"Modern Hotel" The Manotel Royal is a very ,clean neat and modern hotel. It's very well situated about 10mins walk from the lake and about 5 mins to the train station. The rooms are a good size and feel comfortable. There is air conditioning so there is no need to open the windows if you don't want to. The area seemed very safe to walk around at night. The staff are very friendly and helped us out after our bags weren't on our flight!. They chased the airline for us and gave us emergency toiletries. The internet is free which was also great and convenient for us. We didn't use the restaurant , however there is a bar area next to it which was pleasant to drink in of an evening. I can't really fault the hotel apart from the price, but high prices seem common for Switzerland!

"Excellent experience" We stayed 4 nights at the Royal (booked through Hotel Connect at a very reasonable rate) and found it to be an excellent choice, based on the room, cleanliness and location. Our executive room, on the top floor was large and well appointed. We were given a free upgrade to executive from standard, despite Geneva being busy with visitors to the Motor Show. All areas of the hotel were kept spotlessly clean, but this isn't unique in Switzerland. We ate one evening meal in the Brasserie. The quality of fare was superb, the quantity, less so. The location of the hotel is ideal - 500 mtrs from the main railway station. A tram stop is right outside the main door of the hotel. Visitors to Geneva are given a travel card permitting free use of public transport, which proved to be handy. We continually jumped on and off trams and buses. Highlight of our stay was the day trip to Chamonix and Mont Blanc - well worth the cost.

"Top class hotel........." Cannot fault this hotel. Fabulous. Everything you need. Good location - handy to the main train station where it takes 4 minutes on a train to the airport. Easy walk to the lake. Buffet breakfast was so good that we didn't need to eat all day. The staff couldn't do enough and all spoke very good English. Good value for money. Quite a large lift for a european hotel and large rooms with huge beds! Would gladly stay at this hotel again. Most floors are non-smoking which is a good thing as most people smoke in Europe.

"A wonderful hotel!" Great hotel. Good restaurant, service, rooms etc. Also nice fitness centre and very handy for the lake, station, airport & town. Also liked the free internet access and WiFi in this hotel. FANTASTIC!
