Short stay hotel in Geneva.
Very convenient for the railway station, twin room provided was clean and adequate - we were upgraded on our first visit and that was a much better room but lift did not go to 5th floor. Breakfast offered all the usual choices. Appears to be situated in the 'redlight' area of Geneva which is interesting but poses no problem! |

"Nice Hotel"
I stayed at this Hotel while visiting the Geneva Motor show. The hotel is centrally located, 5 minutes from the Cornavin station. The rooms are very comfy, staff very warm and pleasant and they each spoke minimum of 3 languages. I was offered bathrobes, bath slippers, complimentary drinks and the staff were very helpful in giving directions to anywhere.
I will definitely stay here again...
Visitors should know that Geneva has a side to it, which is adult entertainment.

"Green light for this red light district hotel"
was apprehensive about booking, via the chain's own website, this very reasonably priced SolMelia hotel in Geneva. You would not know this from the site but I knew that this hotel, a couple of blocks from the main rail station, was on a street in the centre of Geneva's compact red-light district, meaning that for a block in any direction you will find a few sleazy nightclubs, hookers and sex shops. However, my expectations were confounded - this was an oasis of pleasant service, cleanliness, friendliness and general niceness. The decor is of a very good standard, the rooms reasonably large (by Geneva standards) and the front desk people unfailingly friendly and helpful. If you can tolerate the "lively" character of the immediate environs, and less than perfect sound insulation in rooms with connecting doors, this is a good-value choice and very conveniently located for the businness area and international organisations. By the way, the street life is completely non-threatening, regardless of your age/gender, but I don't think I would book my next family holiday in this part of town. I'll be back.
