Beau Rivage Hotel is more than just a hotel, it is a witness to Geneva's history. Since 1865, the Mayer family has welcomed some of the world's most prominent figures. On the quays of Geneva's lakeside, in the heart of the city, Beau Rivage Hotel boasts a spectacular view of lake Geneva, the Alps and the Mont-Blanc. Within walking distance of the business and shopping district and the Old Town, the hotel is a stroll away from the cultural and entertainment activities.

Both the restaurant and the bar face the lake, and they offer a wide variety of drinks and meals at reasonable prices. To look at the exterior of the hotel, one has the impression of luxury and opulence. The reception area is set in the oldest part of the hotel, which is a gallery style building. On entering the lobby, your first impression is of grandeur, and your second is the feeling that you have stepped back in time.
LOCATION

Beau Rivage Hotel overlooks Lake Geneva, a 10-minute walk from the English Garden, the shops of Rue de Rhone, and the historic town center.
PROPERTY AMENITIES

* Le Chat Botté :
Featuring French gourmet cooking, this is the hotel's star restaurant. Brightly bedecked with lemon yellow tablecloths, the tables can accommodate around 60 diners (up to 20 in a separate private room). Light floods in through lakeside windows. Guests can enjoy a buffet breakfast here or, in summer, on a garden terrace overlooking the lake. At lunch and dinner the ever-changing menu is accompanied by fine wines from a century-old cellar and a selection of rare cheeses to finish off.

* Patara :
Considered one of the best Thai restaurants in Geneva, the Patara can seat up to 55 diners. Access is from the hotel or the street. Green is the theme color, complemented by rich wood paneling. Tempting dishes include a chicken and shrimp satay with a green papaya salad.

* Atrium bar :
Just off the atrium is the bar, which continues the grand theme of the atrium itself, with high ceilings, chandeliers, candelabras, mirrors, sculpture-topped fireplace, and whimsical statuary. Guests take up position on high stools at the long marble bar or relax in the plush lounges and armchairs that spread into an area looking onto the lakeside boulevard. In the evening a pianist adds a musical note to the hum of cocktail chatter. Light meals and snacks are also available.

* The hotel has seven elegant meeting rooms, including a grand ballroom fit for a 19th-century royal drama. The ballroom foyer alone, with its magnificent ceiling fresco and chandelier, is breathtaking. Sotheby's thought highly enough of the hotel as a place to do business to establish its Swiss HQ here in 1987.
ROOM AMENITIES

* This hotel has 97 guestrooms, which come in a variety of classes. All are spacious (a minimum of 35 square meters) and most can be connected to adjoining rooms for family or business groups. Furnishings include writing desks and chairs, occasional tables with at least one chair, armchairs, and two bedside tables. Decor and style change from room to room, but the trend is for light colors and antiques.

* A complimentary basket of sweets is arranged on the occasional table. All rooms have VPN (Virtual Private Network) connections. In most cases lavatories are separate from bathrooms, which offer Trussardi toiletries.

Beau Rivage Hotel has a great location, walking distance from the shops, restaurants and all the attractions of the city. Our room had a court view which is the quiet side. The lake side, definitely more beautiful, may be too busy because of traffic. As for our experience during our stay in the hotel, service, room cleanliness, customer interaction, employees knowledge, helpfullness and professionalism, everything was excellent.

"Bring your Chanel Suit"
We pushed the boat out to stay here for our 8th anniversary. We wanted somewhere with a view of the lake and our room certainly had that. We wereon the second floor and our balcony overlooked the Jet d'Eau (when it was working). The room was huge, and although not nealry as flashy as the pictures on their website, was very comfortable and nice. The bathroom- it was HUGE. We had an old fashioned,claw foot bath (massive tub), two basins (his and hers), toilet (in a separate little room) and bidet plus a shower cubicle. The shower was so powerful it was wonderful. As part of our deal, we had a bowl of fruit and flowers which was nice, but the bowl of fruit was all apples! This place is so posh, it's lovely, but because it's expensive most of the people who stay here are very well heeled, and even wearing my best clothes, I felt seriously dowdy comparedto the Chanel suits and expensive designer dresses. These are women that lunch, and who spend the rest of their day in the beauty parlour. Having said that, we found the staff warm, welcoming and very helpful which was something of a surprise - maybe they appreciated 'normal' clients! The food in the restaurant was superb, as was the service. Both the Maitre'D and the Semillier were so helpful and kind.
